Jewellery Assistant Buyer (13630)

Assistant Buyer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our Goldsmiths Jewellery Buying Team and play a key role in shaping the future of our jewellery collections.

Working closely with the Buyer, you'll take ownership of your own product categories, curating distinctive, commercially compelling ranges that combine beautiful product with a clear understanding of our customer.

From identifying new opportunities and developing own-brand and private-label collections, through to product selection and launch, you'll be involved across the full product journey. You'll bring together creativity, commercial instinct and a refined eye for detail, confidently presenting your vision and recommendations at selection meetings to stakeholders at all levels.

Commercial performance will be at the heart of your role. You'll analyse weekly sales and trade performance, identifying emerging trends, opportunities and risks, and translating these insights into clear actions. You'll confidently present your category performance and recommendations at weekly trade meetings, demonstrating a strong understanding of the factors driving performance.

This is an opportunity for an established Assistant Buyer to make a genuine impact, with the autonomy to own, develop and evolve their categories, supported by the Buyer, while contributing to an exciting and desirable luxury jewellery proposition.

About You

  • Proven experience at Assistant Buyer level, with responsibility for independently managing your own product categories.
  • Demonstrable experience developing own-brand or private-label collections, from initial concept and product development through to launch.
  • A refined eye for beautiful product, craftsmanship, quality and detail, with a passion for jewellery, fashion or luxury retail.
  • Commercially astute and highly analytical, with experience reviewing weekly sales performance and turning insight into clear commercial actions.
  • Confident presenting trade performance, opportunities, risks and recommendations in weekly trade meetings.
  • Experienced in building and curating ranges that balance desirability, innovation, customer relevance and profitable growth.
  • Confident preparing and presenting product and range proposals at selection meetings, engaging and influencing stakeholders and management at all levels.
  • Comfortable taking end-to-end ownership of your category, managing priorities and the critical path with support and strategic direction from the Buyer.
  • Experienced in developing strong supplier relationships and negotiating to achieve the right product, quality and commercial outcomes.
  • Proactive, highly organised and solutions-focused, with the pace and agility to thrive in a dynamic buying environment.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator, able to build trusted relationships across suppliers and the wider business.
